Purple Passion blossom

Purple Passion Blossom was inspired by my friend and Leadership Oklahoma classmate LaLinda Harrison. LaLinda is often quiet and thoughtful so when I talked with her, I learned a lot about my friend hat I didn’t know. What I did know already was that she is a truly wonderful person and friend.

There is so much more about someone than you can capture in one piece but for LaLinda the things that stood out to me was her passion for her family, her sorority, the causes that she supports, travel, friends and her beloved Thunder. She likes lots of colors which are associated with the things that she loves so for this piece purple is the primary color because it is the color that is associated with one of her great passions, supporting The Chron’s and Colitis Foundation.

Green is also included because as I discovered doing research for another recent piece, green is the color of change. When we were going through our LOK year there were some unexpected changes in her life, but she kept moving forward even dithering most difficult time. When I talked with her about this piece, she shared that her life continues to evolve and change, and she continues to grow with those changes and take advantage of the opportunities that those changes present.

The color gold is also an important part of this piece as it represents optimism and positivity, gold adds richness and warmth to everything with which it is associated - it illuminates and enhances other things around it much like LaLinda does.
